The Senior Director of Auxiliary Services provides leadership, vision, strategic planning, policy development, and financial oversight for Biola University’s Auxiliary Services. This role encompasses Residential Facilities, Dining Services, Conference Services, Biola Store (including mail and print services), Transact Administration, Ticketing, Student Transportation, and Vending, with a strong focus on revenue generation and financial sustainability.

Educational/Experience Requirements
Senior-level leadership and management experience in a complex organization.
Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple service units and manage large-scale budgets.
Experience with vendor contracts, facility management, student services, and revenue-generating initiatives preferred.
Work Requirements Exempt (01), full-time – 40 hours/week, 12 months per year This position requires personal attendance at Biola’s campus in La Mirada, California.
Essential Duties
Financial & Operational Oversight
Manage and oversee budgets for all Auxiliary Services, including budget development, expenditure tracking, projections, and Plant Fund tracking.
Provide financial support and guidance to Auxiliary Services Directors and Managers.
Approve major purchases and ensure the use of efficient and effective equipment and resources.
Dining & Retail Services
Oversee university-owned or contracted dining services, ensuring profitability and high service standards across all campus dining locations, including the cafeteria, Eagle’s Nest, Common Grounds, Heritage Café, and catering services.
Collaborate with various university stakeholders, including the Student Government Association to assess student needs, enhance meal plan participation, and increase retail sales.
Expand revenue generation through exclusive vendor agreements, campus promotions, and loyalty programs.
In collaboration with Marketing and Communications, maximize the potential of the Biola Store, ensuring profitability through strategic product selection, sales optimization, and external partnerships.
Manage the bookstore contract and internal store operations while supporting Enrollment Management and campus recruitment events to enhance merchandise sales.
Drive the expansion of online merchandise sales, branded apparel, and digital goods.
Housing & Conference Services
Oversee capital improvements for residence halls, furniture, and equipment procurement to maximize revenue and enhance student satisfaction.
Collaborate with Residence Life and Housing to optimize facility usage and income through short-term rentals, summer occupancy, and external leasing.
Promote conference and event services by renting university spaces for events and summer programs, ensuring maximum revenue potential.
Student Transportation
Explore partnerships with ride-sharing services or public transit for additional funding opportunities.
Supervise Student Transportation services, including the maintenance of electric vehicle charging stations and pricing strategies to support sustainability and revenue growth.
Sponsorships & Partnerships
Develop strategic partnerships for advertising, sponsorships, and naming rights to increase auxiliary revenue.
Work with vendors for branded promotions and exclusive service agreements to generate additional funding.
Technology & E-Commerce Initiatives
Implement mobile payment solutions and loyalty programs to enhance revenue within auxiliary services.
Expand e-commerce initiatives for university-branded merchandise and auxiliary service offerings.
Sustainability & Cost-Saving Initiatives
Implement energy-efficient operations in dining, housing, and transit to reduce costs and reinvest savings into student-related services.
Monetize recycling programs and sustainable initiatives through partnerships and grants.
Campus Engagement & Communication
Foster strong communication and collaboration across Facilities, Auxiliary, and Student Development departments.
Enhance public relations efforts within the Biola community to keep stakeholders informed of service changes and improvements.
Investment Properties
Oversee investment properties managed by Sterling Management, including repairs, renovations, income tracking, and expense monitoring to maximize university returns.
Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

Challenge Directors and Managers to develop visions for their areas and coordinate those ideas into a cohesive l Auxiliary Services strategy .
Fund capital improvement projects to include renovations, equipment, vehicles and software upgrades.

Prior experience in overseeing income-generating activities and demonstrated history increasing revenue and profitability
