The Tax Accountant will provide tax planning, tax reporting, and related services for the University through appropriate procedures and reporting systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws which are applicable to the University. Apply in-depth knowledge of accounting and tax theories and principles and systems design. Recognize complex and unique issues and develop resolution and/or consult with leadership in order to achieve resolution; consistently serve as a technical resource. Identify problems and changing requirements regarding management needs, tax, auditing and other fiscal procedures, account structures or reports, and accounting systems, along with responsibility for modifications.
