This position is responsible for providing the leadership for shift operations for Tyler’s Grill. This position will serve as a role model for hourly and student employees. This position is responsible for accurate cash reconciliation, proper food costs, preparing food items according to standard recipes, employee training, and employee records. Acts as a positive public relations officer for University Dining Services and for University of Richmond.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Operations
Responsible for ensuring that Tyler’s runs smoothly throughout the shift
Enforces all university and departmental policies
Assists customers as needed
Resolves customer issues and/or complaints
Ensures that proper recipes are followed
Ensures that proper sanitation procedures are followed
Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed
Ensures that food and paper products are properly received and stored
Works floor alongside hourly and student employees
Administrative
Follows department procedures to ensure that units are properly opened and closed
Reconciles cash
Assists storeroom employees as well as other managers with monthly and yearly inventories, by physically taking inventory, logging inventory amounts into the Computrition system, printing the proper reports, and delivering those reports to the purchasing office.
Maintains attendance records as well as employee files for hourly and student employees.
Properly disciplines, mentors, and coaches all employees
Reports all equipment repairs to facilities, and follows up.
Keeps Assistant Director of Retail Operations informed on a daily basis of problems, concerns, successes, and complaints for Tyler’s.
Exposure Encountered: Hazardous chemicals, loud noise, extreme heat and cold at times.
Essential Physical Requirements: Standing and walking for extended periods of time, shifts to exceed 8 hours, ability to lift 50 lbs., ability to rotate stock in dry storage, refrigeration, and freezer units.

Have general knowledge of MS Office and Excel, and the ability to learn Time Pro time keeping program, and Computriton Ordering system.

Ability to secure and evaluate facts, and make proper decisions before taking action.
The ability to obtain the Serve Safe certification when offered, Basic first aid, CPR, and AED training.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of an Associate degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in food service management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of three years in a retail food service management position.
Must be flexible to work other shifts or areas for summer months, special events, emergencies (as needed)
SALARY STRUCTURE: Pay Grade 6 (Hiring Range $46,114.00 to $61,110.00 annually)
