Department: Patient Transportation

Location: St. Mary's/St. Francis (committing to both locations optional)

Duration: This will be 3 months with possibility for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Transportation:

• Transport patients using wheelchairs or gurneys in a timely and courteous manner.
• Assist with transfers between beds, chairs, and gurneys as needed.
• Aid patients with discharge procedures, including helping them into vehicles.

Customer Service:

• Maintain professionalism and a positive demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and staff.
• Build and sustain respectful and trusting relationships with a diverse group of people.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure patient safety during transport.
• Adhere to body mechanics and ergonomic practices.
• Follow hospital safety guidelines and report hazards or incidents.

Team Collaboration:

• Promote teamwork and efficiency through effective communication.
• Participate in hospital committees and other activities as required.

Administrative and Miscellaneous:

• Wear a name badge at all times.
• Use communication devices professionally and confidentially.

Please note: An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
