Human Resources at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL invites applications for a full-time Associate Vice President-Chief Audit Executive. This position is responsible for the internal audit, investigation, and university compliance functions. Provides written and verbal communication of findings and recommendations in accordance with applicable professional standards. The incumbent acts as liaison for audits conducted by external auditors assisting University personnel in responding to external audit reports and coordinating follow-up resolutions. Oversees the internal audit program. Develops appropriate annual and long-range plans for the Internal Auditing. This position serves as staff liaison to the UWF Board of Trustees Audit and Compliance Committee and has direct and unrestricted access to the chair and other committee members. The incumbent serves as a member of the President’s staff to provide senior management with advice and to stay informed of strategic, governance, and risk issues. The Chief Audit Executive (CAE) shall uphold the principles of integrity, objectivity, confidentiality and competency as defined in the Institute of Internal Auditors Code of Ethics and shall adhere to the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards). IAMC shall use the Committee on Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) as the model for evaluating internal controls within the University of West Florida.
Salary: $175,000 – $181,000 Annually

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and seven years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and nine years of appropriate experience.

Professional audit leadership experience (Director level or higher) with diverse experience in a public or private college or university, a state or federal agency, an accounting/auditing firm, or within private industry. Professional certification required: CPA-Certified Public Accountant, CIA-Certified Internal Auditor, CFE-Certified Fraud Examiner, and or CISA-Certified Information Systems Auditor.
