Job Summary
Leads team and directs capital projects and building project management from initiation through construction. Defines the project scope, approves contracts, manages the development of construction designs, and ensures compliance with budget, schedule, needs, and standards. Oversees vendor relations and provides technical guidance. Develops budgets and performs associated financial duties.
Essential Functions
The Office of Business, Hospitality and Auxiliary Services is seeking a Director of Planning and Projects to support capital projects and building project management for housing, dining, and other locations, Duties include, but are not limited to:
Supports quality, execution, and compliance of projects with budget, schedule, client requirements, and standards
Provides in-house strategic planning, design, construction, move management, and sustainability-related technical support
Develops and maintains standards for interior finish materials and furniture components for housing facilities
Develops and maintains reports and provides internal updates on progress throughout the project lifecycle
Supervises and manages staff - conducts performance reviews and disciplinary matters.
Maintains relationships and supports Facilities Management and Planning, Design & Construction to meet project goals and objectives
Physical Effort
Moderate physical effort is required. The incumbent may be required to stand and/or move for several hours at a time. May be required to move objects up to 50 pounds with or without the assistance of equipment.
