Stony Brook seeks a Senior Vice President for Administration (SVP for Administration) who will be the executive responsible for leading this mission-driven institution’s administrative operations. The SVP for Administration will manage a $93 million budget and lead a team of 729 employees across Human Resource Services, Emergency Management and Police, Enterprise Risk Management (including Environmental Health and Safety), Parking and Transportation, and Facilities, among other services. The SVP for Administration will oversee administrative operations and develop a strong organizational structure across the medical/health sciences campus and the main academic campus, known as East and West campuses respectively.
The Senior Vice President for Administration reports to the President and will work closely with the Executive Vice President and Provost, the Executive Vice President for Health Sciences, and the SVP for Finance and Budget/Chief Financial Officer along with other members of the leadership team.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished leader with notable executive experience leading strategic operations at complex organizations. The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader and strong communicator who has a proven track record of setting strategy and driving results while effectively balancing the desire/need for change with an understanding of how much change the organization is capable of handling, to create realistic goals and implementation plans that are achievable and successful. The new SVP for Administration will have experience leading an organization during a period of growth and transformation.
