Associate Controller

The Associate Controller of Disbursements and Travel, located in the Finance & Accounting division, is responsible for providing effective leadership to the Disbursements and Travel teams by managing multiple functions and operational processes along with providing strategic support and analysis. In this key role, this individual will direct and manage all transactions and operational activities which include accounts payable and the travel and expense program. This includes supporting the success of the University of Florida through the management, oversight, performance and proper control of transactions and operational activities. The effective individual will provide oversight to managers on day to day operations to support the business strategies ensuring continuous improvement and exceptional customer service. The incumbent must be a driver of transformation, manage change initiatives to ensure successful implementation, possess strong relationship building and communication skills both in person and in writing, and possess knowledge of the application of generally accepted accounting principles for not-for-profit activities in higher education environment. Responsibilities include supervising and developing Disbursements and Travel employees, ensuring effective procure-to-pay processes by acting in coordination with the Assistant Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer, and providing superior customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Finally, the technical responsibilities of this position include the management of all business processes, internal controls, accounting records, data analysis, policies, rules, and regulations encompassing vendor maintenance services, voucher processing, disbursements of funds for all payable business units, and the settlement of University obligations for goods, travel authorizations and expenses.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience. |
