The new AVP and Deputy Controller will provide support to the daily operations of the Financial Services Office. In addition, this key executive will assist the Vice President of Finance and Controller by providing direction, training and supervision of staff. The AVP and Deputy Controller will provide assistance to the university’s budget planning and development, ensuring all policies, processes and systems are in implemented and executed. The AVP and Deputy Controller will work closely with senior administrators in Financial Services to support and carry out Chapman’s financial goals, using various financial models to analyze and forecast budget control. Potential pathway to become the Vice President of Finance and Controller.
Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related area desired.
Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required. Certification must be active and in good standing or have ability to recertify if hired.
Experience in higher education. Thorough understanding of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) preferred.
Minimum of ten (10) years relevant functional and management experience in progressively more responsible financial and accounting positions, which includes a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience.
