Student Affairs Auxiliary Services & Business Enterprises units (UCI’s Bookstore, Card Services, Dining Services, Student Center & Event Services, and Student Housing) provide quality products, services and co-curricular experiences to the UCI campus, community and visitors in support of the university’s mission of teaching, research and public service.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Auxiliary Services, the OneCard Manager is responsible for strategic planning, execution, operation, and management of the campus OneCard initiative, the University's multi-use identification, debit, and access card program. The incumbent will be expected to undertake broad and complex activities to achieve programmatic goals while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations or government requirements. This position will be required to perform analysis and play a key role in the implementation of a new system.
Qualifications, Experience, and Education:
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience/training
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a field appropriate to the area of assignment
Experience participating in the implementation and management of projects and developing and reviewing technical guidelines
Ability to complete multiple projects in an organized and timely fashion
Budget Experience: Executive level experience in planning, developing, and managing a budget for a multi-functional organization. Knowledge of financial principles related to accounting, budget preparation, and financial feasibility.
Critical Thinking and Decision Making: Experience assessing situations by conducting research and soliciting feedback to provide quality programs and services. The ability to make sound, quick decisions with limited information. Extensive experience utilizing problem solving skills.
Experience and adept at interacting with constituents who are diverse in characteristics such as age, education level, race, ethnic, gender identity and expression, ability, and socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally- competent manner.
Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Developing Collaborative Partnerships: Possess skills necessary to develop mutually beneficial and synergistic relationships with campus colleagues.
Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
Business: Demonstrated knowledge in business administration and operations.
Motivated, detail-oriented self-starter with superior customer services skills.
Communication Skills: Advanced communication skills including strong writing skills, interpersonal effectiveness, political acumen, and ability to assess correctly organizational interactions and sensitivities.
Comfortable with public speaking and program presentation.
Ability to interface at all levels with campus officials.
Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
