Risk Management & Insurance Administrator

Under the direction of the Assistant Director/Risk Manager of Risk Management and Safety, the Risk Management and Insurance Administrator (RMIA) is responsible for overseeing and managing the functions of the risk management unit within Risk Management and Safety. The position supervises two administrative faculty employees. The RMIA participates in discussions and decisions regarding job actions (e.g., new hires, promotions, demotions, transfers, discipline, terminations), and has full responsibility for assigning and scheduling work duties, setting productivity goals and job expectations, ensuring appropriate training is provided, assessing performance, completing formal performance evaluations, and coordinating work activities. This position requires a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Risk Management, Business Administration, Insurance, or closely related field and 5 years’ experience in risk management, insurance, or related field. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment. |
Additional Salary Information: Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding. Pursuant to Assembly Bill (AB) 3 passed by the Nevada State Legislature during the 31st Special Legislative Session, employees are required to take furlough at a 4.6 percent monthly reduction in compensation from January 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021.
