The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga seeks an experienced, strategic, and collaborative leader to serve as its next Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration and Chief Business Officer, the position will be a member of the Vice Chancellor’s leadership team. The position will provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Budget and Finance Office, Procurement and Contract Services Department, and Auxiliary Services Department (Bookstore, Dining Services, Parking Services, Mocs Card, Print and Mail Services, and Vending). The position leads three direct reports, 23 team members, and approximately 250 third-party partner team members. The Associate Vice Chancellor is responsible for oversight of internal business affairs of the University. The position is charged with coordinating and monitoring university-wide activity in the areas of financial management and reporting, auxiliary enterprises, and the procuring of goods and services. The position establishes effective, collaborative partnerships with senior leaders of the University and other constituents to support the development of short-term and long-term financial plans at all levels of the organization. The position serves on several University committees and will periodically represent the Vice Chancellor in various capacities. The Associate Vice Chancellor is charged with recruiting and leading a diverse team, ensuring their professional development, and creating a culture throughout the unit he or she leads that exhibits outstanding customer service, campus support, and promotes servant leadership. Located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is a comprehensive, community-engaged campus of the University of Tennessee System. It is recognized as a national model for metropolitan universities. In collaboration with many regional partners, the University offers an experiential learning environment with outstanding teaching scholars in bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. As of the Fall 2020 semester, the total student population is 11,728; 88% are undergraduate and 12% are graduate. The University has a $208 million operating and $60 million restricted annual budgets. In addition, the University routinely has between $50 and $100 million in capital projects either in the planning, design, or construction phases.
