The department of Enrollment Services at Cazenovia College is seeking a Bursar. This full-time, twelve-month position will provide services as they pertain to all aspects of Student Accounts. This position will be a member of the Enrollment Services Center team and report to the Associate Dean for Financial Aid and Registrar.
Charges & Payments
Responsible for billing process which includes configuration of functionality (i.e., rate tables, etc.), generation of bills, processing of payments
Reconciles student accounts balances
Oversees the student statements of account process
Oversees institutional relationship and sponsored billing for all military branches
Reconciles uncollected checks, and initiates corrective action with students
Generates monthly detailed A/R aging report
Calculates the student A/R allowance for doubtful accounts
Monitors the past due student A/R, counsels students on payment options, manages in-house collection activity
Financial Aid disbursements and check requests
Ensures that the financial aid disbursements to students' accounts are accurate
Ensures that student refunds are issued according to regulations
Calculates the G 5 (Department of Education) draw-down requests
Responsible, with College’s Financial Aid Director, for the College’s compliance with federal aid disbursement regulations
Timely produces/files the annual tax reporting of tuition (1098 T) forms
Creates periodic reports
Reconciles GL accounts
Assists with the financial audit process, and prepares audit work papers
Creates and maintains student account procedures
Other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in business/accounting/finance or closely related discipline.
Minimum of three years of experience in Student Accounts.
Strong attention to detail and analytical capability
Advanced skills Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to identify and set priorities; and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to work independently.
Strong work ethic, positive problem-solving attitude and enthusiasm for a collaborative working environment.
Ability to effectively deal with sensitive fiscal issues and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Elluican’s Colleague student information system or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to process student accounts, analyze data, process data, and prepare reports.
CashNet payment plan experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of higher education principles, practices and procedures as they relate to student account operations.
Knowledge of federal and state policies regarding financial aid.
Knowledge of credit and collection principles, processes, regulations and standards.
