Serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the university, reporting directly to the President. Responsible for the administration, operation and direction of the Finance and Administrative Services Division, which includes an extensive range of areas, including facilities management, financial services and reporting, human resources, auxiliary services, financial planning and budgets, and CMU police.
Required qualifications include Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or related field; eight years of experience in finance administration with at least five years in senior executive roles; a strong background in financial planning and leadership; exceptional ability to build and manage teams in a large and diverse environment; highly developed analytical skills; demonstrated strong organizational skills, including ability to plan, establish priorities, and handle multiple tasks and projects; demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work positively and effectively with the academic community, public officials, media representatives and the public; ability to exercise effective interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; demonstrated commitment to excellence in service, support for the academic mission and continued advancement of the university in research, teaching and service; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; ability to perform the essential functions and requirements of the job.
Desired qualifications include Master’s degree, preferably in business or a related field; Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Experience in complex organizations that may or may not include higher education; experience in a unionized environment; experience with oversight in any of the areas reporting to this position.
