Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director of Finance has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. The position helps to shape and to implement relevant priorities and policies developed by the ISEP Board of Directors and President and CEO and provides both operational and programmatic support to the organization. The Director of Finance will work closely with the President and CEO in determining long term financial goals and developing strategies to achieve the financial objectives of ISEP. This includes direct responsibility for strategic planning, accounting, finance, forecasting, costing, financial analyses, legal, property management, deal analysis, and investment relationships.

Key Job Responsibilities
Leads a Finance team of two Senior Accountants who manage accounts payable, payrolls, billings and collections and facilitate the preparation of financial statements and analyses.
Defines and implements key performance indicators and short and long-term strategic objectives for the finance department and, as appropriate, the organization; facilitates measurement of those objectives, reporting results to the executive team; provides advice on the financial implications of business decisions.
Budget planning and forecasting.
Provides timely and accurate financial statements and analyses, analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts to Senior Management, Finance Committee and the Board of Directors.
Oversees audit and tax functions, coordinates activities with outside audit/accounting firms and reviews firms’ performance.
Updates and implements all necessary business policies and accounting practices; periodically updates ISEP’s Finance Manual.
Ensures compliance with relevant federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guideline, and best practices, including but not limited to tax laws, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and cost accounting standards (CAS).
Reviews and forecasts foreign currency needs and enters into contracts to mitigate the organization’s exposure to foreign currency fluctuations.
Remains up-to-date on best practices in nonprofit finance, business systems and internal control measures, compliance and state and federal law regarding nonprofit operations.

Fosters interdepartmental collaboration.
Oversees facilities management, including responsibility for the company’s rental contract.
Reviews and maintains adequate insurance coverage.
Continually reviews manner of operations and procedures to propose improved efficiencies.
Collaborates closely with the Director of Human Resources, especially pertaining to salary and benefits administration.
Hands-on lead position in developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive cost system and analyses.
Recognized degree in Accounting or Finance;
MBA and/or CPA highly desirable
Minimum ten years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably within a non-profit environment
Budgeting and forecasting
Understanding of international finance, especially foreign currency risks and hedging strategies
Experience with annual external audits
Familiarity with tax and information reporting to governmental agencies
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Working in a member-based organization
Working in an international education environment.
Knowledge of employee compensation administration
