This position leads the Office of Auxiliary Enterprises, an organization within the Administration Division. The Associate Vice President for Auxiliary Enterprises directs all auxiliaries with a focus on supporting the University mission, providing exceptional guest experience, enhancing to the academic mission of the University and contributing to the long-term financial health of the institution. The role prepares, controls and monitors budgets and operations of the ZagShop, Zag Dining, GUEST, Mail Services, Print Services, retail leasing, vendor partner contracts and relationships as well as smaller and other auxiliary services as assigned; and is responsible for providing services both directly and indirectly to faculty, students, staff, and the University’s community. This position functions with latitude to consider courses of action within university policies and objectives; and interacts with all University departments and vendor partners to ensure goals are met.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Education can be replaced with experience. Administrative experience in a university center, student center, college union or other closely related activity in higher education. At least five years’ experience leading and developing teams. At least five years’ experience with RFPs, contract negotiation and development. Strong business or operational financial acumen. Proven track record of successful business development and execution. Proven ability to prioritize high volumes of work from a multitude of sources while maintaining the highest quality standards; exceptional organizational skills.
