Under the direction of the Educational Programs Administrator, is responsible for daily administrative support of the Physician Residency Program, Medical Physics Residency Training Program and Brachytherapy Fellowship program. Serve as the primary coordinator for the department's Medical Student Electives and Clerkships including maintaining maximum student populations, coordination of all documents and application materials, and ensuring completion of evaluations using the schools preferred systems. Serve as Housestaff Academic Personnel Coordinator for the Department of Radiation Oncology Residency and Fellowship Programs. Using the Personnel/Payroll on-line system and Housestaff program, major duties include on-line entry, Housestaff Database liaison, budget compliance for the Radiation Oncology Residency Programs.
Qualifications SAOI: 0 - 3 years of previous Graduate Medical Education Training Program Coordination with a basic working knowledge of graduate medical education and of ACGME policies, requirements and structure. Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with staff, faculty, residents and fellows. Excellent oral communication skills to collect and transmit information with accuracy, discretion, and diplomacy. Ability to work independently, completing assignments with minimal direction and supervision. Skill in using a personal computer and knowledge of various software programs such as Excel, Word, Access, Publisher, MS Outlook, and PowerPoint. Skill in organizing meetings, conferences or other similar events requiring complex coordination of facilities, people and resources. SAOII or III: 3+ years of previous Graduate Medical Education Training Program Coordination with a thorough understanding of the graduate medical education cycle, including ability to independently review and interpret ACGME policies, requirements and structure to ensure programmatic compliance. Ability to work independently, organize work (both electronically and paper files) with particular attention to detail and accuracy; demonstrated skill in assessing timelines, prioritizing and coordinating numerous assignments and projects simultaneously under heavy and fluctuating workloads, frequent interruptions and conflicting deadlines. Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with staff, faculty, residents and fellows. Ability to diplomatically handle difficult or urgent matters in a confident and proficient manner. Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion. Exceptional customer service skills. Skill in writing precise, logical, and grammatically correct correspondence and reports to residents, fellows, faculty, and staff. Skill in creating and maintaining paper or computerized record keeping systems of various types and complexities. Skill in organizing meetings, conferences or other similar events requiring complex coordination of facilities, people and resources. Demonstrated skill in analyzing information, situation, practices, and procedures to define problems, to identify relevant concerns, and to formulate logical and objective conclusions and recognize alternatives.
