The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a Business Officer. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio and one of the largest colleges at the University of Cincinnati. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs as well as general education courses to approximately 5,100 students. The Business Officer will report directly to the Dean of UC Blue Ash and be responsible for a broad range of fiscal activities and functions to ensure effective operations and the achievement of organization objectives in a cost effective manner. Specifics of this position include:
Analyze budget to maintain expenditure controls
Compile and analyze accounting records and other data to determine the financial resources required to implement programs
Match appropriations for specific programs with appropriations for broader programs, including items for emergency funds
Prepare regular and special reports and analysis to administrators as requested
Provide insightful, thought provoking observations/ideas in a coherent and compelling manner to constituents
Provide advice and technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation
Seek new ways to improve efficiency and reduce expenses
Perform cost-benefit analyses to compare operating programs, review financial requests, and explore alternative financing methods
Supervise the Human Resources and Business Office staff
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure fiscal compliance with federal, state and UC policies and procedures
Review, interpret, and implement measures to comply with Collective Bargaining Agreements with several labor unions at the univeristy
Job Description: Under general supervision from the dean, direct a broad range of activities and functions to ensure effective operations and the achievement of UC Blue Ash objectives.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree with 8 years experience; OR Bachelor's degree with 10 years experience. Degree must be in Business Administration or related field. Financial and administrative experience is required and must include three 3 years supervision.
Ideal Qualifications: he Business Officer should be able to effectively communicate complex fiscal data in a clear and concise manner and provide financial information to support decisions to or not to expend funds based on cost benefit analyses; Knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources; Knowledge of related college, university and government standards, policies and procedures; Experience at a college or university; Must be able to multi-task, organize and plan work flows.
