Responsible for recruiting students and related outreach for the Master of Science in Finance (MSF) graduate degree program. Serve as student and academic affairs resource for the MSF program.
In collaboration with Gies College of Business recruitment efforts, MSF program leadership and Gies College Marketing and Communications (MarCom), develop and execute recruiting strategy for each recruiting cycle focused on applicants to the MSF.
Coordinate efforts with College Recruiting and Finance Department staff members to implement recruitment and admissions plans for MSF student applicants.
In coordination with the Assistant Dean of International Programs and College Recruiting, design and implement a strategy to attract students to MSF, with emphasis on improving the number of high quality students from China who enroll into the program.
In coordination with the Assistant Dean of International Programs, develop and manage partnerships with external organizations, academic institutions and government agencies that will enhance and diversify the student pipeline. This involves identifying potential academic partnerships or engaging with third party recruiters.
Deliver internal and external public presentations promoting MSF.
Provide continual support for the students throughout the admissions process including phone calls to admitted students, webinars to interested students and social media work.
Some night and weekend obligations (student events, graduation, orientation, off-campus treks) as well as willingness to travel to international locations.
Engagement with external partners
Establish, enhance and maintain relationships with MSF alumni (in collaboration with Gies Advancement).
Establish, enhance and maintain relationships with corporations and government agencies (in collaboration with Gies Corporate Relations) domestically and overseas to build partnerships for internships and full-time employment opportunities for MSF graduates.
Work with Gies Career Services to support MSF student placement initiatives. Assist in organizing special events to build a platform for corporations to access recent graduates for job openings.
Required: At least five years of professional experience with at least two years of experience in higher education, recruitment, admissions, or relationship sales. Good knowledge of international higher education systems. Knowledge and experience of different cultures, Excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and proven success in managing across multiple stakeholders. Must demonstrate a service-oriented attitude for working with faculty and students. Experience working with a diverse population.
Preferred: Experience working with international graduate students, international corporate outreach/relations. Knowledge of foreign languages; fluent Mandarin strongly preferred. Familiarity with computer related databases and various social media platforms.
