The Senior IT Auditor is part of the office of Audit, Risk & Advisory Services at Vanderbilt University and is a key individual contributor responsible for executing audits and advisory services. This position performs audits of IT operations and information security, system assessments and provides expertise regarding technical controls across the institution. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director ARAS, the Senior IT Auditor collaborates among the audit team and partners with a variety of auditees to successfully complete audits/projects.
The Senior IT Auditor is responsible for executing audits from the planning phase through the reporting phase of the audit process. Further, the Senior IT Auditor will assist management in advisory service/consulting projects and the promotion of internal controls throughout Vanderbilt University.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform audits according with a working knowledge of IIA and ISACA standards
Able to proficiently use technical audit tools (i.e. Engagement, excel, IDEA data analytics, etc.)
Think critically about risks and controls within various processes throughout the University (e.g. Information Technology, Research Labs, Finance, Student Services)
Effectively communicate with all levels of management
Document audit findings in a clear and concise manner
Develop technical knowledge and expertise within the field of Higher Education
Deliver project status to management and communicate roadblocks
Utilize effective time management skills to perform work within allocated budget
Provides timely responses both internally to management and externally to auditee

Bachelor Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology Business Administration or similar field is required. Master of Information Technology or similar field is preferred.
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) license is required. Pursuance with completion within two years of employment is also acceptable.
Minimum of four years of experience in IT, information security, public accounting advisory or internal IT auditing is required. Higher education experience is preferred. Experience performing IT audits (compliance, process, operational, etc.) is preferred.
