Florida Atlantic University's Office of the President is seeking an Inspector General, Boca Raton, FL.
The Inspector General reports directly to the president with periodic disclosure of activities to the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board of Trustees. The Inspector General directs and coordinates a diversified and complex internal auditing program including implementation of an annual work plan. Annual Work Plans should be diverse and represent those areas within the organization that could demonstrate the greatest financial and/or reputational risk. This work plan is developed in consultation with the President and Chair of the Board of Trustees Audit and Compliance Committee.
The Inspector General must be abreast of and has a keen sense of national and international trends related to what issues could result in the greatest financial and/or reputational risk to the university. Those concerns may or may not fall within the expertise of the Office of the Inspector General. In those instances, the Inspector General will consult with and/or hire external reviewers who have the knowledge expertise to ensure that the University is well protected in the areas of greatest risk.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualification:
A Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization from an accredited institution and six years of appropriate experience; or a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization from an accredited institution and eight years of appropriate experience required.
Must be a Certified Public Accountant or possess a Certified Internal Auditor certificate. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this position.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
Must also have excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.
