Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Academic Finance and Administration in Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Directs planning, preparation, oversight, monitoring, and implementation of the $365 million budget for Academic Affairs.
Works closely with the Provost, Vice Provost, Deans, the Associate Vice President for Financial Affairs and the University Budget Office to ensure that the goals and objectives of the University, the Board of Governors for the State University System and the Florida State Legislature are met.
Directs consistent reporting of the Academic Affairs budget and for ensuring compliance with university, state and federal regulations and guidelines.
Coordinates and manages budgets across divisions and university, compiles and analyzes financial and faculty HR information, develops multi-year financial projections, provides leadership and direction in budgetary policy development and interpretation, and prepares budget presentations for the Provost's leadership team, as needed.
Provides direction to college, academic unit, and partner campus business managers, including training and interpretive activities regarding university budget/accounting policies and regulations and state statutes.
Directs and manages budget staff members in the Provost's office, and interacts daily with all levels of employees of the University, providing information and interpretation on budget matter, related to expenses, enrollment and personnel.
Works with Provost, Vice Provost and Financial Affairs to implement changes to the budgeting model.
Responsible for business process implementation, testing, troubleshooting, training and support for HR Workday as it relates to faculty.
Acts as liaison with University Budget, Human Resources, Controller's Office, and Vice Provost on issues related to personnel salaries. Responsible for Human Resource processes for more than 50 employees.
Responsible for working with the Vice Provost in the capacity of reviewing financial implications for planning in Academic Affairs.
Responsible for supervising the Assistant Director for Academic Budget and Coordinator for Academic Budgets.
Master's Degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and six (6) years' experience in appropriate field; or a Bachelor's degree from and accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and eight (8) years of appropriate work experience.
Prior experience in Higher Education required.
Accounting or finance degree preferred.
