Position Summary: The position reports to the Vice President for Administration and Finance to help provide strategic leadership for the University’s financial operations; budget management; facilities management, and related business services. The AVP for Administration and Finance is responsible for assisting the VP in divisional and university wide strategic plan initiatives, provides best practices concerning operational efficiencies, recommends policies to strengthen internal controls, and oversees compliance in the Administration and Finance division. Working closely with the VP, the AVP will monitor and help plan how to carry out the university’s capital master plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversight and stewardship for monitoring and management of the University’s cash funds and operating budget. Assist with the proper allocation, spending, and reporting of financial resources. Provides analysis to generate improvements and efficiencies of divisional and departmental tasks. Compliance with university, state, and federal rules for procuring, spending, and accounting for both capital and operating goods and services. Compliance with reporting requirements of the above entities. Ability to collaborate with a diverse team of professionals to identify key performance indicators, operational reporting, and recommendations for data driven data decisions regarding policies and strategies, enforcing standards of accountability, and fostering staff development. Development of cooperative and collaborative relationships with other departments within the Administration and Finance division and with campus constituents, including vice presidents, deans, and directors.

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in public administration, accounting, finance, or a related field; and significant supervisory experience of eight years or more, including hiring, establishing and enforcing appropriate accountability standards, and developing employees into an effective team are also required.
Significant experience in a strategic leadership responsibility in finance, budget, or related function in a complex organization.
