Provide guidance to the Associate Vice President for Facilities Services and facilitate implementation of the full range of administrative, fiscal, and human resources activities within the Facilities Services. This includes resource planning, budget control, financial analysis, and fiscal oversight of instructional and research programs, space administration, and organizational and operational improvements. This is a direct reporting relationship to Finance and Administration with a dotted-line to the Associate Vice President for Facilities Services.
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGIC PLANNING:
Provides analytical support evaluating and recommending budget, expenditure, and resource priorities, and the fiscal impact of proposed changes on departmental activities, programs, and external affiliations. Researches and presents information on services, operations, and activities to provide accurate briefings, information, and recommendations. Anticipates significant resource issues and presents information and analyses to facilitate proactive responses to problems and opportunities. Identifies improved efficiencies and increased revenue opportunities.
As directed by leadership, facilitates and monitors short and long-range expense planning and oversees expenditures. Allocates funds and advises on unplanned obligations. Oversees internal grant and contract management practices to assure compliance with guidelines and policies. Responsible for maintaining accurate data resources, including current and historical financial and budgetary data, discretionary funds, and staffing lists. Serves as liaison between Facilities Services and the Office of Finance and Administration, and other business related entities on campus. Along with the Controller's Office, oversees the annual fiscal closing processes.
HUMAN RESOURCES AND PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION:
Ensures compliance with University policies and procedures and state and federal affirmative action and hiring laws and regulations within the employment process. Recommends policy/procedure-related training programs for staff, aimed at ensuring compliance with university and State policies and procedures. Actively supports a strong Facilities Services commitment to business ethics and workplace diversity.
- Bachelors and 5 years in Accounting or Finance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working cooperatively in many areas of academia.
- Writing and implementing marketing/business/strategic plans for academic programs. Creating strategies and management plans.
- Planning and implementing budgets; including budget analysis and proposal preparation.
- Working in hands-on environment utilizing high-level computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite
- Managing personnel, staff development and evaluations.
- Related Master's Degree and 3 years in Accounting or Finance
