Direct the post-award process for sponsored programs. Promote and maintain excellent relationships with faculty, research staff, and financial administrators. Ensure compliance with federal, state and other regulatory requirements. Provide training and guidance to Controller's Division staff and the University community regarding cost accounting guidelines and related policies. Evaluate current processes and systems and lead initiatives where improvement/redesign is necessary. Support the growth of research at the Washington Square campus in a cost-effective manner.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Preferred Education: MBA or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
Required Experience: 8-10 years relevant managerial experience within the financial department of a large, complex college, university or other non-profit organization. Must include experience with OMB A-133 reporting, cost accounting standards and supervising staff.
Preferred Experience: Preparation of the Federal facilities and administration (F&A) cost reimbursement proposal.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent analytical and communication skills. Excellent presentation skills. CPA license. Ability to work with individuals at all levels. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Peoplesoft financial software for Education and Government and BRIO report writing software.
