Rider University invites applications for a Sr. Accountant who is a vital member of the Accounting Office, working collaboratively with members within the Finance Division, as well as other members of the University to perform day-to-day functions and achieve the strategic goals of the division and University.
Individual will perform accounting functions, including, but not limited to, management and reporting of the Fixed Assets and project funds of the University, the preparation of journal entries, assisting with the annual financial statement audit, performing fund/account analysis, reconciliations of various general ledger accounts and period end closing procedures in accordance with both University policies and procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles.

The successful individual must possess a Bachelor degree with an emphasis on accounting and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Additional required skills include: proficiency in Excel and Word; good organizational, communication and writing skills; ability to work well independently; ability to multitask; dedicated to meeting deadlines; committed to team efforts and coalition building; and the ability to be analytical and inquisitive.
Preferred qualifications include: auditing as additional coursework; Certified Public Accountant designation; experience in non-profit fund accounting; and knowledge of Banner and Cognos.
