Plans, directs, supervises & ensures accuracy of all activities associated with the administration of the student accounts receivables & collections at Framingham State University (FSU).
Supervision Received: Reports to the Assistant Vice President - Finance & Business Services
Supervision Exercised: Manages 4 subordinate classified staff, 1 Contractor, & student workers in the Student Accounts Office through 1 Associate Director and 1 Assistant Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans, develops, recommends revisions / implements, & evaluates policies, procedures, & schedules for Student Accounts.Liaises with the Business Office / Accounting,
Coordinates student billing each semester, including (but not limited to): setting up rate tables & fees, posting tuition & fee charges in Banner, & issuing student bills.
Oversees the cashiering function (including but not limited to): posting of payments, verifications of batches & deposits, credit card authorizations, & cash balance reports.
Special Working Conditions: Occasional night and weekend hours required in order to meet operational needs or student meeting / orientation schedules.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree, CGA, or CPA preferred.
At least 5 years of full time professional experience in student billing or accounting-related area, of which at least the last 3 years have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Banner, Banner Student Accounts & / or Banner Student preferred.
Knowledge of student accounts, student financial services & public higher education principles, practices, & procedures.
This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position in the APA bargaining unit at the rank of Director. The salary range is $80,000-90,000, commensurate with education and experience.
