This position performs the accounting for the daily transactions necessary to the accomplishment of accurate accounting for University activity. This individual will be chiefly responsible for restricted, designated and grant funds of the University and act as the primary resource person during the annual audit for those fund groups. Further, this person will be the primary contact for restricted or designated fund inquiries.
A Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related, and a minimum of three years of professional accounting experience is required. Non-profit accounting or grant accountant experience is preferred.
This person will have to be able to think logically and use sound judgement to make effective and timely decisions, 10-key by touch, and be able to follow computer logic to get software to perform at its peak. Must have excellent customer service skills and be a team player.
A strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and FASB Statements as they relate to the private non-profit sector is absolutely necessary. Also a working knowledge of 2 CFR 200 and experience in its applications are necessary.
We expect this individual to be able to prioritize a number of tasks, and complete their duties to meet numerous deadlines.
