The Vice President serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and management for all financial matters of the university in a manner consistent with the university mission and strategic plan.
The ideal candidate will possess many of the following qualities, attributes, and experiences: superior understanding of finance and operations in institutions of higher education and broad familiarity with the terms of functioning of Church-related, not-for-profit institutions.; significant experience with fund accounting, financial systems and reporting, internal controls, and external audits; proven ability to oversee the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial projections; experience with institutional investments, cash management, and debt financing; and a knowledge of property management and facilities, including construction projects and sustainability initiatives.
Essential personal characteristics include integrity and a good strategic judgment; self-motivation, goal orientation and sensitivity to the needs of diverse constituencies; a high degree of initiative and creativity; an active, maturing Christian faith journey; and, a willingness to understand the relationship of Anderson University to its sponsoring organization, the Church of God, Anderson IN.
A baccalaureate degree is required; advanced degrees and/or other professional certifications such as CPA are strongly preferred. Comparable comprehensive experience at the senior executive level in other organizations will strengthen the application.
