Position Summary: Southern Connecticut State University is seeking a University Controller/Director of Fiscal Affairs Reporting to the Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration, the Controller/Director of Fiscal Affairs directs the University's fiscal services, fiscal reporting, analysis, projections and planning, monitoring and control. Serves as the Chief Fiscal Officer of the University in the absence of the Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration, and as a key liaison to the CSCU system office, auditors, and regulatory agencies on matters pertaining to the finances of the university.
Qualifications: A CPA, MBA or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent is required. Seven years of progressively more responsible experience in Financial Management in Higher Education, public or private, including the development and implementation of effective financial systems, controls, reporting, and analysis. Demonstrated ability to plan and develop sound financial reporting systems; ability to interpret and administer federal laws and regulations, payroll, purchasing, grant administration and contract administration procedures; demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communications skills required. Proven skills in leadership, management, promoting and managing change, team building, collaboration, and creating, communicating, managing and extracting broad organizational value from complex financial data and plans. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
